TWINSPRAY Sales to UK Coastguard and Qatar Petroleum - March 2008
Ayles Fernie has won its largest orders to date for their BOATSPRAY 100-TS dispersant spray system with the new AFEDOTM nozzles. The orders from the UK Coastguard (MCA) and Qatar Petroleum were for 5 complete systems for each customer. The systems to be supplied to the UK MCA will feature electric start pump units in purpose built aluminium containers. Sales of systems with AFEDOTM nozzles, now collectively known as "Twinspray Systems", have exceeded 60 and AFEDOTM Nozzles have now been supplied with both BOATSPRAY and CLEARSPRAY pump units.

AFEDOTM Large Vessel Trials - July 2006
In order to demonstrate the operational effectiveness of the AFEDOTM Nozzle on large vessels, trials were carried on the "Anglian Monarch" with the kind assistance of the UK Coastguard (Maritime & Coastguard Agency). The AFEDOTM Nozzles are operated with the vessel sailing downwind to negate wind effects. This technique was easily used on small vessel and the trials were designed to test this technique on a larger vessel. Testing in wind speeds of up to 20 knots proved very successful and the crew had little difficulty adjusting vessel speed and direction to "manage the spray plume" to achieve the even drop out characteristic.

AFEDOTM Product Launch - IOSC 2005
Following the successful development and operational trials of the Ayles Fernie AFEDOTM Nozzle, the product was launched at the 2005 International Oil Spill Conference. The BOATSPRAY 50-TS system seen in the accompanying photograph was sold at the show and Ayles Fernie hope that this is a good sign of many sales to come.

First Sea Trials of the AFEDOTM Nozzle - August 2004
Ayles Fernie with the kind assistance of OSRL has carried out the first sea trials of the new AFEDOTM "even drop out" nozzle and confirmed the operational effectiveness of this compact alternative to dispersant spray arms. The even drop out characteristic is clearly visible on the water surface as shown in this photograph. The potential of this technology is very significant as it means that for the first time, a portable dispersant system can be used on vessels of opportunity as the AFEDOTM Nozzle does not need any special fittings.
