TC3
The TC3 is a helicopter dispersant spray system which can be operated from any "helicopter of opportunity" equipped with a cargo hook. Carried as an underslung load, the system incorporates its own power supply and is controlled via a simple pilot operated control box. The system can be jettisoned in an emergency and requires no modifications to the helicopter. The TC3 consists of a lightweight moulded fibreglass tank unit and frame which supports an electric start diesel engine driving a centrifugal pump. The dispersant capacity of 910 litres is discharged via twin spray booms which create an effective swath width of up to 30m at typical application speeds of 85 knots
